Yesterday afternoon we experienced a very exciting, if not downright scary, EARTHQUAKE! The earthquake was centered only about 50 miles from us as the crow flies in Mexico . It was a real “shake, rattle and roll” ride for us here in Yuma. I have lived in Southern California most all of my life and I have never ever felt an earthquake that lasted that long! We are happy to report that we had no damage - not to our brick walls or buildings. Stuff fell off shelves around the Yuma area, but not much real damage to buildings. El Centro and Calexico in California weren’t so lucky. At 7.2, this quake was the strongest in this area in many years and after all the quakes these past few months it was kind of scary. A portion of I-8 buckled near El Centro and thus was closed. About 80% of the buildings in the downtown area of Calexico are “red-tagged” and several buildings in El Centro are also. Hopefully there won’t be another quake here like that in a long while.
Anyway, our work continues…… slowly. The workers arrived early this morning .... at around noon! It sure beats arriving at 4pm like they have been doing most all last week.
The bath is complete and we can once again enjoy a nice large shower with great water pressure! The shower in the coach is not the best - just adequate - and we are kind of spoiled when we are here. Now we are looking forward to having the large washer and dryer back.
The Laundry/Entertainment side of the room is also taking shape nicely. The counters are all in and most all the doors and trim are in place. We had the opportunity of using the large island counter last night when our friends Ron and Flor stopped back by on their way home - it was nice and will be wonderful once it is all completed and we get furniture. They may be completely complete by the end of this week - we hope!

A little rockin'n'rollin', a brand new counter set-up, a fancy new WC - like just doesn't get much better! It sure looks nice!
