On this Christmas Eve 2008, Andy and I want to wish you all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. We both miss being with our family and friends this Christmas and our hope is that everyone is healthy, happy and doing well. We are thankful for the friendship and love that all of you give to us all year long and look forward to seeing all of you soon. In the meantime we are still loving our gift to ourselves - our Yuma lot. The weather has turned a little cool and wet - both good things in the desert. We would prefer warmer temps and more sunshine, but we are not complaining - especially with how the weather has been all over the country lately. We have it pretty good here in the Desert South West! We have big plans for this “part-time home” - so check back from time to time to see what we are up to!
The other evening we were surprised by a “Parade of Lights” that came down our street! These pictures aren’t the best and they really don’t show how beautiful the parade was. I took some video that is better, but way to big to even upload to this Blog. We watched for at least 10 minutes while all kinds of decorated vehicles passed by in front of our lot. The lights on some of the vehicles were very elaborate. One large trailer was full of people caroling. At the end there were two decorated tri-cycles - I still can’t figure out how they managed to light up the wheels as they turned. The people on the bikes had to be really tired by the end. Some entries came back past our lot on their way home after the parade was over - a little more than two hours later! We found out later that this is an annual event that runs three consecutive nights. The first night was in the Foothills, the second night was all the campgrounds along the South Frontage Road near the Foothills and the third night was all the campgrounds along the North Frontage Road near the Foothills. These people are really serious about the decorations - we are already looking forward to next year.
Now, time to get ready for the New Year - we will be ringing it in here in Yuma - probably looking at all the millions of stars in the sky. On a clear night the stars are amazing! It is supposed to be clear New Year's Eve - but you know how accurate weather forecasters’ are. We can hope!

Looks like a fun parade, nothing like that here for us. Enjoy yourselves.
Merry Christmas Andy & Linda and may 2009 all you have ever hoped for. See you in Q town on the 16th. There is a section of the foothills believe like 55th and Montana can't really remember where all the lots are really decorated and worth a drive by am sure anyone there can direct you.
