IT‘S NICE TO BE HOME!

We arrived at our “Yuma Home” this afternoon. It was great to be back at our “little piece of heaven”. Not many other people anywhere in the Foothills, so it is a little lonely. It was a little on the toasty side at 108, but actually not feeling that warm. The breezes must have made it feel better as our dripping sweat evaporated. It was odd to realize that we left here the Friday of Memorial Day
Weekend and returned here the Friday of Labor Day Weekend! This evening we are blessed with a beautiful full moon to welcome us home - full moons on the desert are the very best. Supposed to rain this weekend - maybe that will keep the temps cooler, like around 105? That would be wonderful…… By 8pm we are down to only one A/C on and feeling quite comfortable. It is wonderful outside, but we haven’t gotten our “outside TV” set up yet, so we are inside cooling it with the A/C.



It was really strange when we came thru Quartzsite Arizona today. Many of you who follow this Blog have been in Quartzsite with us during the month of January. At that time of the year there are horrible traffic jams - the town swells from the normal approximately 200 residents to perhaps 200,000 or more! The desert lands all around town are jammed with RV’s of every description that you can imagine. Today, as you can see, the streets were almost bare and the vendor areas that bring us there in January were totally deserted!


Now to the Charger’s ---- We almost had a heart attack when we couldn’t find the game on TV. We thought for sure it would be carried in Los Angeles (our satellite feed) if not locally here in Yuma. Well, we finally found it on the local CBS station, so we are enjoying the game as I write this update. Tonight they are playing their last Pre-season game against San Francisco - so far they are doing well……

Even though both teams are playing all the “nobodies” tonight, it is somewhat of a contest. The Charger’s are doing better than San Francisco, but that could change at any point in time. At halftime the Charger’s are ahead 13-7 - the 49er’s got a lucky touchdown at the last seconds of the first half (smile). By the end of the game, the Charger's WON 26-7!!!!! We are happy campers, although this is still only Pre-Season ..... now let's let the games begin!!!!
