Our Framing Sub-Contractors showed up at 0645 - 15 minutes early! That can only be a good sign.
Getting ready to get started, they unload their tools, do some measuring and check the plans. Before we know it they are cutting lumber.
As soon as they have the “sole plate” cut and drilled, they start putting the walls together. We now know what the largest of the beams is for - the “header” over the big door!
Bim bam boom - the walls go up without a glitch!
Just another little bit and all the walls are up!
This wall needed a little more “persuasion” to get in line! They used this several times to force the walls into compliance before tightening down the bolts to the sole plate.
More progress - then time for lunch! They quit at 10:45 at this point and after eating and resting, they began again at 12 noon.
After lunch, it is obvious that this is all getting serious - the crew put on their hard-hats for the remainder of the afternoon. They continued with the “wrapping” of a particle-chip-board plywood. This is another big bonus for us. Originally, only the corners were to have this “wrapping” - our General Contractor decided to wrap the entire structure - again at no additional cost to us! It will make the building much more stable in the winds that happen here in the desert.
These are things you don’t want to do at home yourself! Just another example of how these guys are the professionals.

Done for the day, the crew cleans up all the trash and takes time to check the plans for tomorrows tasks.
A peek at the progress for today.
We started out this morning with a pile of lumber and some nice concrete. This is where they stopped today. It is totally amazing to us how much they accomplished in one day.
Our General Contractor came back to check up on the progress this evening. He indicated that the Framers should be done by Wednesday and the rough electric done by Friday. He has called for the rough framing and rough electrical inspection for Monday, with hopes of the roofers beginning early in the week and being done by the end of next week. We are really moving along now!

The persuasion was done with what we call the "fine adjustment tool"
Surprised you could build so close to the fence. Most places have a set-back from the property line.
As to the "fine adjustment tool", is this the same tool that the guys on the Monacoer's site keep referring to as a necessity for every RV tool box?
Why don't you buy the place next door. Knock down the brick wall. Problem solved. Or have the inspector over for drinks!!!!
