Interior Paint and Floor Tile… moving along….slowly!

Seems like they have been painting the interior for just about forever now - the good news is that they are doing a wonderful job. We should never have to ever paint again! I took lots of pictures, but the color did not show very true in the pictures - I guess you just have to be here.

The Floor Tile arrived today along with the sub-contractor that will be putting it into place. Our General Contractor waited too long to go get the tile from our local Lowe’s store, so of course they did not have a sufficient quantity in stock. Not wanting to get tile from two different lots, he made arrangements to go to El Centro to pick up the correct amount. His loss cause in order to have it here in time for the sub-contractor, he had to be in El Centro California, about 70 miles away from Yuma, at 0600 this morning so he would be back here in time! Poor planning on his part, but he is learning and this time he paid for his lesson with some of his profits and lots of his time! Not our problem...and all is well now.

After scraping & cleaning the concrete floor and sealing all the joints, they got busy setting the tile. The process was very interesting to watch - way more involved and tedious than you would think!

This day they only got about half the floor done. Tomorrow they will set the other half and then do the grout on Saturday. The tile sure makes the room look bigger and brighter. These guys have done this a time or two and they are doing a wonderful job!
