With all the rain of this past weekend over, our good friends Lew & Dottie Anderson were finally able to make it across the mountains for a visit with us.
After enjoying a great Happy Hour, we are getting ready for a spaghetti dinner to be followed by a few rousing games of Peg’s & Joker’s. It is cold and windy outside, so no campfire tonight!
Now for the construction update - who knew that Drywall was so labor and time intensive? Hanging the sheets on the wall was the easy part!
After several days of taping, mudding and spreading a skin coat on the old walls, they were finally ready to spray the texture coat. With all the rain this past weekend, it took much longer for each application to dry before the next could be done.
The texture coat took a couple days to dry, then they returned to sand the walls. Because it was Friday, everything is now on hold for Monday when the interior will be painted. We are hopeful that the Electricians will return on Tuesday and that the floor tile will be laid on Wednesday and grouted on Thursday. Things should start progressing more rapidly now.
Meanwhile, the guys are busy working on a project in the “man cave” - now who would you all think gave the garage that name? No, it wasn’t Andy or me. Anyway, the “man cave” is a little crowded with stuff belonging in the room under construction and now our table and chairs to have shelter out of the wind and cold that is outside still - sure will be glad when the wind goes away.
Finally great weather returns to our neck of the woods and we all have a chance to enjoy the deck! Sunshine and gentle breezes brought out the umbrellas - and the Beer!
The Sun-rises are almost a good as the Sun-sets here in the desert. We had to say bye to the Anderson’s this morning as it was time for them to continue East to Tucson AZ for the big Monaco Motorcoach Rally. We are sad to see them go and wish we were going with them. We miss attending our Rally’s, but construction takes priority at the current time. Once the construction is completed we will be returning to the “Rally Circuit” for more fun and fellowship with all our traveling buddies!

Things are looking good. We got to visit with Lew and Dottie this morning while out walking the dog. The place here in Tucson is starting to shape up like a real rally. Sorry you can't make it.
