A Day Hike to see waterfalls.....

After a wonderful dinner at the local Elks Lodge, we were told of the Sweet Creek Falls area near Florence by some friends of the Anderson's that we sat with at dinner. We decided to check it out and found a really beautiful place. The forest is pronounced SI-U-slaw - it takes a local to school you sometimes.

It must rain a lot here or have a lot of fog - most of the trees here have all this "moss" hanging. It is beautiful and reminds us of Savannah Georgia!

We head out on the trail, which is mostly flat and easy to begin with.

Time for a break and a picture - have to document things like this you know!

A first look at the falls - much better in person for sure. We thought it was just one waterfall, but we soon learned differently.

The trail changes and we do some climbing. Nothing too strenuous, but not all that easy either.

As we follow the trail we find more and more little waterfalls.

More hiking....

More falls....

While the falls weren't that high or spectactular, they were very beautiful and the hike was quite enjoyable. We were out in the middle of nowhere all alone and the thought occured to us that this is bear country - so, we decided enough beauty was enough and we headed back to the safety of our vehicle. We enjoyed our respite from the foggy cool coast and enjoyed the sunshine and the exercise was good for us!
