Today we traveled with the Anderson's to visit the Korbel Winery. We have been on this tour before, but it has been a long time. Our guide basically leads us thru a museum type building explaining how Korbel got started. We watched a film and saw lots of the old equipment they actually used to make the Champagne that they are famous for. Today, Korbel also makes Wine and Brandy. We were able to taste some very good Champagnes, some of which are not available in any stores - just by mail or at the store here onsite. Both of us manage to leave with several bottles of Champagne and Brandy - good times ahead!
The drive out to Korbel and back into town was very beautiful with Vineyards all along the way. Once back in Sebastopol, we visited a neat little tavern called Hop Monk. After enjoying a great Stout on Nitro, we walked around their venue. They have live music in another room and a wonderful patio area outside. We were told that in the Winter they put a huge tent over the patio area so it can be used year round.
Everyone was a little tired from all our sight seeing, so we returned to the Coach to rest and watch Dancing with the Stars. Tomorrow is another day of touring!
