We arrived at Junipers Reservoir mid afternoon and got settled in a great site with 50 amp full-hookups. We can actually get the satellite from the roof antenna! All the sites are angled just right so we have the trees and can also see the satellite - somebody knew what they were doing when they designed this campground. No fishing this day - just relaxing and getting settled.
The first day of fishing - Linda caught two in the morning ... Andy caught 0, but had several good bites and lost a hook in one! Score at the end of the day is Linda = 3 Andy = 0.
We were pleasantly surprised when our friends Ken & Nita pulled into the site next to us! We didn't think we would be seeing them until we got to LaPine in July.
Biggest fish caught on day two. Also got a little Catfish this day. Score is now Linda = 6 Andy = 0.
Day 3 of fishing - this one is a monster, actually turned out the be the biggest one caught this trip.
Ken & Nita's dog Katie is so curious and loves the water. She was investigating the monster fish and it flipped around and scared her! I was lucky to get this shot - Katie didn't give up and continued to mess with the fish.
Day 4 of fishing - finally Andy has caught a fish! Lots of bites and several lost. This morning it was rainy and gloomy. We had to pack up and go back to the coach because of the rain, but Andy was determined and when we returned to the lake later in the morning he was successful.
End of day four of fishing has Andy catching another fish. Final score is Linda = 7 Andy = 2.
The campground is nestled among the trees at the base of this mountain. If you look closely you can see a few rigs, but most are hidden. A wonderful retreat!
We have a freezer full of wonderful Rainbow Trout and really enjoyed our relaxing time here in Southern Oregon. Time to move on in the morning, but I am sure we will be returning again and again.
