We arrived at the Medical Center and found a wonderful parking spot - remember it is still very early and most sane people are still in bed. Anyway, being early is usually a good thing ! Andy had a chance to get on-line and check his e-mail one last time before the day’s procedure got underway.
All checked-in and prepped - waiting for an orderly to come and retrieve him from the Ambulatory Surgery Unit for his journey to the Operating Room. They kept his little bonnet hidden until the last minute, so I did not get a picture of it - Andy is probably very happy that I didn’t!
After about 4 hours of me being bored and anxious - and Andy taking a BIG NAP - He is back in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit for his final recovery period before being released. As you can see he is doing well and even talking to his kids on the phone. We were headed back to the campground about 30 minutes after this picture was taken. When the local anesthesia wore off, it was more difficult for him to speak - kind of like having laryngitis - a very raspy voice that is super soft. Ice packs and pain meds have made that better at this time.
Looks like he won’t be able to malinger very long - a couple of days and he will be as good or better than before. Now if we can get the knee fixed he will be “young” again!!!!
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes for Andy’s successful surgery. We love you all and appreciate all your good thoughts on our behalf!

Glad everything went well. Hope the recovery is speedy.
The old guy looks ggod for havong been under th knife! I'm glad he's doing so well. Take it easy on him - he needs the rcuperation time. Y'know, get him his drinks, his meals, massage him when he feels like he needs it to relax, etc., etc. ;>)
We to are thankful that the surgery was a success! Only a few words of wisdom for Andy -- milk it as long as you can :-)
