After a call to the repair facility and the roadside assistance, a tow truck arrived quickly and off Andy and the Broken vehicle went. A call about an hour later informed us waiting at the hotel that the problem appeared to be the Transfer Case and not the Drive Shaft. Not exactly good news, but not the worst either. A replacement Transfer Case was located - not new, but probably just fine for a vehicle that is already 10 years old. Now the wait continues while that repair is made to see if it is the only one required. Good news - so to speak - the replacement Transfer Case out of a wrecked vehicle that had about 45,000 miles on it appears to be in excellent condition. After obtaining new seals and replacement “fluids”, we are good to go just before their normal closing time. With our wallets significantly lighter (actually our credit card quite a bit more loaded), we are good to go. The repair place - Red Rock Auto Repair - really went out of their way to accommodate us and get us back on the road quickly, even though they were quite busy this day. We have decided to spend one more night here in Salt Lake City since it is just about 6pm when we were set free.
