Our old storage room is looking a little bare! We have been very busy sorting, packing the good stuff, taking down all our shelving, hauling unwanted stuff to the Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift shop and other unwanted (by us) stuff to family. We are definitely on the "down-hill side" of it all and both of us can't wait for it to be over!!!! Now to get the rental truck loaded and moved to Yuma....that will have to wait for a couple weeks, then we can relax and get back into our traveling and enjoying our normal lifestyle.
Yesterday we went for a little drive with my Sister and her Husband to Swan Valley Idaho. We always love Swan Valley because it is so beautiful, but this year it is even better. Everything is so green and just a little snow left in the mountains between it and Jackson Hole Wyoming. The Snake River is almost to flood stage, but still within it's banks. They have been letting lots of water out of the reservoirs from Jackson Lake all the way into central Idaho to avoid a flood. The snow-pack was excellent this year and then the whole month of June brought lots of rain - things are looking good for Idaho this year!
No trip to Swan Valley is really complete without a stop at the local corner store & Ice Cream shoppe! They claim to have "World Famous Square Ice Cream"! I am not so sure about the "World Famous" part, but I will attest to the fact that they do scoop it out as a square and that it is absolutely wonderful!
Tomorrow begins our "Summer Vacation"! We will leave Idaho Falls and travel to Salt Lake City Utah in the Jimmy to pick up two of our Grand Kids at the airport. Sam and Camille are coming from Atlanta Georgia for a week-long visit with us. Sunday morning we will be heading to West Yellowstone Montana in the coach for 5 days of exploring Yellowstone National Park! We will be making our base camp in West Yellowstone at the Yellowstone Grizzly RV Resort and make day-trips in to Yellowstone to do our exploring. Sam is 15 and Camille is 8 - so we should have a wonderful time seeing and learning about all the natural wonders of this very special place.
