This weekend we were blessed with a visit from Andy’s Son, AJ. He arrived on Friday afternoon and immediately wondered out loud why we wanted to be in “hell” - or maybe he just said that it was “hotter than hell”. in any case, it was a little on the warm side for sure. After a dinner of BBQ Steak with all the fixins and a few shots of Tequila and Jack Daniels, he wasn’t so critical of the weather!
Saturday morning we traveled to Lake Havasu City for a visit with long time friends the Hardy’s. Pictured here are AJ and Anthony Hardy with Anthony’s new boat. AJ and Anthony grew up together and this was a great reunion for both of them. They spent most of the day on the lake and in the local favorite hang-out - the Naked Turtle Bar. I can’t show pictures cause most of the sweet young things had VERY little on and I have young impressionable readers of this Blog. Let us just say that AJ had a great time! (So did Andy when we went to pick AJ up)!
Sunday we gave AJ the grand tour of Yuma - took about 10 minutes! We visited the brand new Las Vegas style Indian Casino - Quechan, and then we made the almost required stop at the famous Lute’s Casino for some welcomed Amber Bock beer. The new casino is quite impressive. We all signed up for a “Player’s Card” - they gave us $5.00 each free play and we ended up walking out with a total of about $25.00 more than what we came in with - an enjoyable outing for sure. In addition to the “free play”, AJ did well at the BlackJack table!
Our plans are to close up shop here in Yuma and head for cooler weather up North on Saturday. Even though it has been over 100 everyday for about two weeks, we are not complaining and are actually enjoying the dry warm weather. Our wheels are still round, so it is time to hit the road and not let the roots grow too deep for now. Stay tuned for updates on our travel adventures.
