OUR CONCRETE IS COMPLETE!

The Concrete Contractors said they would arrive at 0700 today to do the second pour - they arrived at 0645! They set up their lights so they could work, since it was still a little dark! The Concrete Truck arrived about 0715.

It didn’t take long to dump and spread the soupy concrete into the forms.

Beginning to work with the wet soupy cement.

Finally the sun rose brilliantly!

The workers kept working with the wet cement until it became exactly what they wanted. These guys are good!

Everybody was gone by shortly after noon.

We now have to wait for the cement to cure before continuing with the project. A meeting with our General Contractor, the Framers and the guy building the trusses was held on Friday afternoon. The current plan is for the General Contractor’s crew to be on-site next Tuesday and Wednesday to begin the demolition of the part of the existing building that has to go before the new part can be connected. Thursday all the lumber and trusses will be delivered to our lot. Friday the Framers will begin working. The Framers may work on Saturday to get the job done so that the next inspection can be called for on the 16th. At some point the Plumbers will return to demolish the existing plumbing and set the new plumbing so they will also be ready for the next inspection. That is how it all stands for now - hopefully the next bout of rain that is predicted for Friday the 12th will not happen so the Framers can get started!

Stay tuned ….. It is just getting interesting now……..
