A wonderful evening ... after not great news....

This afternoon, our friends Nita & Ken, came to visit us and they brought the whole dinner with them! Wonderful Ribeye Steaks, super broasted potatoes, Macaroni Salad, Croissants and Strawberry Shortcake for dessert! Katie was extra rambunchous today, so it was a little difficult to get a great picture, but I think we did pretty good. It was the perfect end to a rather difficult day.

Now to the update on our toad .... This has been the Jimmy's home since Saturday morning when it decided to die. Because of the holiday weekend, this morning was the first chance to get someone to check it out. After some very thorough troubleshooting by a local mobil mechanic that was highly recommended by several of our "LaPine Family", the verdict is that most likely the fuel pump has bit the dust! Unfortunately, the fuel pump on the Jimmy is inside the fuel tank and he couldn't do anything else here in the park.

The mechanic arranged for a local towing company affiliated with AAA to come and take the Jimmy to his house - which is his business since he is basically "mobile".

It was sad to say bye to our beloved Jimmy, but hopefully it won't be for too long. We should know more tomorrow after he is able to drain the fuel tank and remove it. We are told that this new gas with the ethanol is causing lots of problems with fuel pumps in older cars - especially GMC/Chevy models. Just our luck, huh!

Luckily, we are safe and sound here in the park and have everything we need to be quite comfortable for a few days. The beer is cold and our friends here are keeping an eye on us - so all will be well.......
