Boo Hoo.....A minor setback in Yuma!

Everyday we have been told - “tomorrow the permits should be approved” ----- and everyday we wait another day. Today we learned that the plans, as drawn, will not be approved and some changes must be made. They are concerned that we are installing a “kitchen” - we were trying - and they won’t approve that because our building is not the required 10 feet from the back of the property line. We can be grand-fathered in for the plumbing, but they will not allow anything that appears to be other than an expanded laundry room. Soooooo…. Our General Contractor is re-drawing the plans to exclude all of the cabinets that make it appear to be a kitchen and will resubmit the new plans tomorrow. He explains to us that we do not need a permit to install cabinets, but since they are drawn on the plans they become part of the approval process. Tomorrow is another day and we will be holding our breath for an update then.



Now for something good! Last night we had an absolutely beautiful sunset! It was like looking at a picture post card - this is a big reason why we are here! Enjoy….
