Time for another “check-in” and Check-Up!

We had a wonderful New Year’s weekend with our good friends Lew & Dottie Anderson. Fortunately for us, they decided to stay one more night instead of leaving Sunday morning. We enjoyed a great breakfast at our local Mexican Restaurant - Mi Fajita. After breakfast we set up the room to be able to view the Charger’s Football game using the Anderson’s satellite spot-beam from San Diego. It is unbelievable that the game was only broadcast on the San Diego local FOX station. If it wasn’t for the Anderson’s we would have missed the game! I understand the logic of the Charger’s to not play any of their good players and to almost lose the game to be sure that they are the healthiest for the playoffs - but we were all really frustrated during the game. I am happy to say that the Charger’s did win the game - but it was by just a hair. After the game we headed into town to check out the Village Inn Pizza for some Pizza and beer. Lew had worked for them many years ago and actually opened up the first one here in Yuma way back in the 1960’s (I think). We were rewarded with some really good Pizza, great Amber Bock Beer, and best of all some fantastic fellowship with great friends.

Now to the current - as the picture above shows we are getting ready for the second phase of our construction. The gazebo and shed are down and stored behind the Coach out of sight. We are beginning to move the gravel from the construction site.

Today we had a meeting with our General Contractor. This is the first peek at the plans for our construction. For the most part they are pretty complete - just a couple changes/corrections. We are hopeful to have the plans submitted for the permit process by the end of this week.

Tonight was another fantastic sunset! The weather has been wonderful the last few days - almost perfect. If you look at most of the rest of the United States, we have about the best weather anywhere! Florida is colder in places than Alaska - and Key West which should be in the 70’s & 80’s this time of the year is barely getting up to the 60’s! The cold snap is unbelievable….we are truly blessed to be having temps into the 70’s during the day and only down into the high 40’s at night. This must be paradise………

Tonight we enjoyed another great campfire. We miss being at the Rally in Indio California this year and we really miss seeing all our friends that are there. We are still hopeful for some time at Quartzsite later this month, but it is not looking good at this point. Stay tuned for construction updates!!!!!
